If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that travel has a way of transforming you. It opens your heart, stretches your perspective, and feeds your soul in ways nothing else can. For me, it began with one unexpected opportunity—and a little bit of noodles in Singapore.
I grew up in Sri Lanka, surrounded by warmth, tradition, and a world I never imagined I’d one day step beyond. The idea of flying to faraway countries felt like a dream… until I got my first real job at Singapore Airlines. (That's me at extreme left)
Suddenly, the skies didn’t seem so far.
I remember my first flight vividly: the aircraft tilting skyward, my ears popping with cabin pressure, my heart racing. When we landed in Singapore, a kind colleague met me at the airport and took me straight to a bustling street market. I can still taste the noodles—spicy, savory, and filled with the flavor of freedom.
That flight was just the beginning. My final destination was Melbourne, Australia, where I spent a whirlwind week with friends, soaking up the unpredictable weather, generous hospitality, vibrant shopping, and of course, more food! Hearing “G’day, mate” at every turn and learning that women were called “Sheilas” made me smile—and reminded me how playful and unique language and culture can be.
That first trip changed me. It showed me what was possible.
Since then, I’ve traveled as much as I can—each time with wide eyes, an open heart, and a camera in hand. I take photos and videos not just to remember, but to relive. I write down stories not just to document, but to share.
This blog is my space to bring you along on my adventures—across continents, cuisines, and cultures. Some days it’ll be poetic. Some days, practical. Always personal.
So whether you’re dreaming of your first trip or reminiscing about your fiftieth, I hope you find joy, inspiration, and maybe even a little laughter in these pages.
